Engineering

I am in my fourth year of engineering studies at UBC Vancouver in the Manufacturing Engineering Program (BASc).

In addition to my studies there, I am a member of Formula UBC Racing. We are a student-led engineering design team who design, build, and race open wheeled formula cars to compete at FSAE International in Michigan, USA each year.

I am on the Materials & Manufacturing sub team and am also the Shop Manager. I have also worked extensively with the Brakes & Controls, Chassis, and Aerodynamics subteams.

Formula UBC Racing Projects

Steering Wheel

Formula UBC Racing Project (2024-2025)

Designed and manufactured a custom carbon fiber steering wheel with an integrated dash display for Formula UBC Racing’s 2025 race car. Created ergonomics upgrades to the handles and paddle shift mechanisms. Waterproofed the enclosure to house dash display electronics within the wheel.

Ergonomics Rig

Formula UBC Racing Project (2024)

Developed a full-scale adjustable ergonomics rig to validate CAD models and ensure real-world driver comfort. Helped to improve driver ergonomics and internal component packaging in the 2025 chassis using anthropometric data.

Composite Projects

Formula UBC Racing Projects (2023-2025)

Design, manufacturing, testing, and validation for composite components on the FSAE race car including the aerodynamics package and lightweight carbon fiber monocoque.

UBC Engineering Projects

RC Car Component Redesign & Manufacturing Planning Design

MANU 330 Third Year Manufacturing Engineering Capstone Project (2024-2025)

Creating upgrades for an RC car and designing a scaled manufacturing plan for 20,000 production units, including cost analyses, factory layouts & workflow, tooling design. Mechanical design factors including material selection analysis, FEA, DFMA, FMEA, and real life design validation.

Electronics and Instrumentation

Projects for MECH 368 (2025)

Arduino, sensors, actuators, signal processing and data analysis using MATLAB, and circuit modelling in Simulink.

Semi-Autonomous Claw

APSC 101 First Year Project (2023)

A project for my introduction to engineering II class where I made a semi-autonomous claw using an Arduino, a servo motor, and an ultrasonic sensor coded in C++.

Cardboard Chair

APSC 100 First Year Project (2022)

A first year project for my introduction to engineering I class where I made a carboard chair designed for emergency shelter use that can be assembled in under 20 seconds and support 280 lbs.
